As you might have heard at the last meeting when Ms. Forde chatted about it, the City of Nassau Bay is holding a Moon Tree planting on Saturday, 11 Feb, from 12p-3p.
Moon trees are seeds taken into orbit by Apollo 14 to help understand the impact of radiation on plants. The seeds planted at this event are the “gradnchildren” of those seeds brought into orbit. There will be free food starting at 12pm, and then after a brief opening, our Scouting units at St. Thomas have been asked to simultaneously launch 14 rockets.
That’s a tall order, because if you’ve launched with us before, these rockets can be tricky. But we’ve got all new rockets and many new launchpads and controllers… but we need Scouts in uniform to come “press the button” and launch!
Please consider signing your Scout up using
